    SPECTATORINFORMATION

What on earth is Cyclocross racing?

Cyclo-cross is a unique cycling discipline with varying terrain and obstacles packed onto a short, twisting, often-muddy course, where riders race full gas from start to finish in a fast and furious action-packed hour of racing.

It’s an off-road, drop-bar bike discipline that has a little bit of everything, from pavement to dirt, tight corners and off-cambers, to steep hills and even sand pits.

Obstacles can mostly be ridden over, but if a rider can’t, they’ll have to get off their bike and carry the bike around or over the obstacle.

Similarly, if a part of the course is unrideable, then the rider can dismount and run with the bike on their shoulders. This is a common occurrence and athletes have to train to be good runners as well.

    SPECTATOR INFORMATION

Cyclo-cross in a nutshell: a fast, full-gas hour of racing on a short, twisting, often muddy off road course. Riders use drop-bar bikes over a mix of pavement, dirt, tight corners, off cambers, steep hills and even sand pits.

Most obstacles can be ridden, but when they can’t, riders hop off and carry or run with the bike on their shoulders, so good running is part of the sport too.

    COWBELLS

Cowbells are the noisemaker of choice at cyclo-cross. Give yours a good ring as riders pass to cheer them on. The course is a tough mix of mud, sand, sharp turns and obstacles, and they’ll appreciate it.

    TERRAIN

The course and viewing areas are in a park with grass, dirt trails, mud, and then even more mud. Watch your footing to avoid slips and trips.

    WHAT TO BRING

Wear layers, gloves, a hat and wellies, plus something waterproof in case of rain. Bring your friends and family, and some cash for food, drinks and the trader stalls.

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO WATCH?

The course loops around a central area, so pick a spot with plenty of action: the wiggles, ruts, planks, or Cyclopark’s infamous 47 stairs. The start and finish lines are a short walk from the event village, and signs will point you to the best viewing spots.

    SPECTATOR SAFETY

Spectator safety is a priority at the National Trophy Cyclo-cross, but spectators remain responsible for their own wellbeing. Key rules include following marshals’ instructions, using only designated crossing points, and staying within spectator areas and out of taped or restricted zones. Spectators should not touch or alter any part of the course and must keep children accompanied at all times.

    TEAM PARKING DETAILS

Reserve the space your team needs!

To help teams plan their race weekend and make the best use of the available parking areas, we are offering dedicated team parking and setup spaces in 3m × 3m allocations.

This gives teams the flexibility to book the space that best suits their needs, whether that’s a single vehicle or a larger team base with gazebos, awnings and equipment.

    How it works

    • £7.50 per 3m × 3m space, per day.
    • Simply select the number of spaces required to accommodate your full setup, including vehicles, gazebos, awnings and equipment.
    • Multiple spaces can be purchased to create a larger team area.
    • All vehicles and equipment must fit within the total space purchased.
    • A limited number of spaces are available to book on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Arriving on the day

To ensure we make the best use of the available space and accommodate as many teams as possible, parking areas will be filled progressively as teams arrive.

Spaces will be allocated in order of arrival, not in order of ticket purchase. Teams purchasing multiple spaces will be allocated their full booked area together, but specific parking locations cannot be reserved in advance.

Our team will be on hand to direct you to your allocated area when you arrive.

A little planning goes a long way!
With space at the venue being limited, this approach allows teams to choose the space they need whilst helping us provide a fair and organised parking arrangement for everyone.

We kindly ask teams to consider their full setup requirements when booking to ensure everything fits comfortably within their allocated area.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cyclopark for another fantastic weekend of racing!
