At Cyclopark, we are more than just a 49-acre multi activity venue – we are a health and wellbeing Charity dedicated to driving positive change in your community!
Located in an area where 42% of Year 6 children are overweight and nearly 1 in 3 adults are physically inactive, our mission is to provide outstanding experiences that get people moving on two feet or two wheels, regardless of their background or ability.
Our ‘Discover What’s Possible’ campaign was created to bring the hidden impact of our work to light. Today, we are incredibly proud to announce the third installment in this series: Andrew’s Story.
The Journey So Far
To understand the power of Andrew’s journey, it helps to look back at the incredible stories we have shared throughout this campaign, each highlighting a different way the ‘Cyclopark Family’ supports its community:
Jade's Story
We began the campaign with Jade, a single mum who found us through our Movement Not Meds initiative.
At a time when she felt overwhelmed and was signed off work, the supportive environment at Cyclopark helped her lose weight, regain her focus, and model healthy habits for her daughter.
For Jade, it was about reclaiming her mental wellbeing and getting back to a life she loved.

Elsa's Story
Next, we shared the journey of Elsa, who has been riding here since she was three years old.
Elsa’s story demonstrates how we nurture talent, taking her from our Saturday club sessions to competing on the world stage for Team GB.
When her mother passed away in 2023, BMX became her lifeline, providing the mental strength and community support to keep moving forward.

Andrew's Story
While Jade found confidence and Elsa found resilience, Andrew found a second chance at life.
Andrew came to us in 2023 facing a terrifying reality: he had three life-threatening aneurysms, but surgeons told him he was too unfit to survive the high-risk operation needed to save him.
After being refused surgery three times, he joined our FREE Chair Fit & Chat classes.

The physical strength and “store of fitness” he built at Cyclopark—combined with the emotional support from staff and fellow classmates—allowed him to finally undergo surgery in March 2025. Today, Andrew is thriving, leading the way for his wife at the zoo and pushing the lawnmower at home. As Andrew says, “Cyclopark saved my life… with every fibre of my being”.
Why Your Support is Vital For Our Charity
These transformations are only possible because of our status as an independent charity.
We receive less than 10% of our income from government funding, meaning we must generate over £1.3 million every year to keep our facilities running and our charitable programs free or affordable.
In 2026, we aim to provide 25,000 spaces of FREE activity. When you pay for a session, join as a member, or play our Charity Lottery, you aren’t just using a gym—you are helping us provide a future for people like Jade, Elsa, and Andrew.
Without reliable funding, we risk being unable to deliver these life-changing community services.
By supporting our charity lottery, you ensure people can continue to move with our support and facilities.
