DID YOU KNOW?

Not a lot of people know the background of the venue or charity so, please find out more below. With less than 10% of income coming through government funding, we generate the rest of our income ourselves through memberships, coaching, general admissions and events!

See how your support, however small or big, contributes towards the hugely positive impacts with the communities we help …

What is Cyclopark

Cyclopark is a unique multi-activity venue located in 49 acres of parkland in Gravesend, Kent. It is owned by Kent County Council and was opened in 2012 further to the relocation of the old A2.

The Cyclopark Charity

We are an independent charity appointed on a multi-year agreement by Kent County Council to operate the venue on its behalf. As a charity, any profit is re-invested into the park’s facilities and wider charitable activities.

VISION

Our Vision is to provide a community hub that drives positive change in our communities. We want people to be able to access excellent facilities no matter their ability or background. We hope to inspire people to get moving for pleasure as well as discovering hidden talent.

MISSION

Our Mission is to provide outstanding experiences that support all ages and abilities to get moving on two feet and two wheels.

Why - the local context

Located in an area of significant health and socio-economic inequalities, 42% of Year 6 children are overweight and nearly 1 in 3 adults are physically inactive.

Multiple large-scale studies across the world show that just a moderate amount of movement – 150 minutes a week, which is 21 minutes a day – lowers your all-cause risk of death at a given age by approximately 30%.

So, what do we do

We offer a wide range of have-a-go and taught Ride, Fitness and Play activities for all ages and abilities priced in a community-orientated way, focused on affordability. Where we can, we offer these for free or at a significant discount for identified groups as part of our charitable activities.

Our Team is known for being welcoming, supportive and creating an environment that many describe as like a ‘family’. This approach shines through particularly in all taught sessions, be they in the gym or on the track, resulting in truly inspiring stories, feedback and impacts.

Whether that’s attending a one off class, or using the facilities, please pay for your visit as unfortunately some people slip through the net!

Why Is Your Support So Vital?

To create the positive impacts and stories highlighted, it will cost the charity over £1.25 million in 2024/25. With one government grant of £125,000, that’s over £1.125 million the charity needs to generate whilst delivering our vision of providing access to all affordably and, in some cases, for free.

The majority of this money is generated through operational income, like paid activities and memberships. But, with the government grant due to reduce year on year, and costs of an aging venue rising, we are introducing Individual Giving and Corporate Partner Programmes alongside a renewed focus on grant applications to support our activities.
