Race BMX


Cyclopark is home to a fantastic 330 metre, National standard, BMX race track.

We have a of selection of top-level coaches and local clubs on offer, bringing you a first class experience and a range of sessions to suit all abilities.

To ride our BMX track you will need to take part in an induction so that we can be sure that you have a complete understanding of the track. Once completed, and signed off, you can take part in our coached sessions. 


Cyclopark will be hosting rounds 3 & 4 of the National BMX Race Series on the 20th & 21st of April. For more information on this head to our events page 


PLEASE NOTE - Independent riding of the BMX track is not permitted.
Track access is only available during coached/supervised sessions

Equipment

If you are using your own BMX bike, please ensure that it is in good working order. Stunt pegs are not permitted and at least one working brake must be present.

BMX Track riding essentials:

  • A full face helmet
  • Long fingered glove
  • Long sleeve tops
  • Long trousers
  • Suitable riding footwear

Please be aware - the coach has the right to refuse access to the session should the bike not be suitable for use, or if the rider is wearing incorrect clothing.

Equipment is available to hire at reception upon arrival - £11 for bike and helmet or £5.50 for helmet only.


Available Sessions:

Never tried BMX before? Learn how to ride a National standard BMX track with our highly qualified coaches! This session allows riders to be signed off as competent to ride the track. Once completed, they will be able to attend our weekly BMX Novice / Intermediate sessions!

BMX Inductions

Over 8’s BMX Induction

  • Date: First Saturday of the month
  • Time: 1pm - 2:30pm
  • Age: 8+years
  • Price: £13.00
  • Equipment: Bike and Full Face Helmet included

Riders MUST bring their own fingered gloves, and arms and legs must be covered. 

 

Under 8’s BMX Induction

  • Date: First Saturday of the month
  • Time: 3pm - 4.15pm
  • Age: 5 - 7yrs
  • Price: £13.00
  • Equipment: Bike and Full Face Helmet included

Under 8's must be able to ride confidently without any assistance and have some experience in riding off road

Riders MUST bring their own fingered gloves, and arms and legs must be covered. 

If you are planing on bringing your own BMX bike, it must have atleast one working brake & have NO stunt pegs

Novice BMX - Under 8’s

Ladies only BMX session!

Learn all about the thrill of BMX racing, make new friends and get fit in the process.

How to take part

1. Induction 


All riders must complete an induction to determine what level of coaching they require.

2. Novice Level 1

Learn basic skills on a BMX that will allow you to ride the whole track.

3. Novice Level 2

 An introduction to BMX racing techniques.

4. Intermediate

Practice and master BMX racing techniques and skills.

5. Expert

Gain knowledge and experience the pro sections of the BMX track.
